Urban Oasis is a speculative design proposal, focusing on design practices of interior architecture and adaptive reuse. The project looks to reinstate the Wellington Town Hall building to become a lived-in residency for 45 young individuals in the year 2050. Focusing more closely on 45 pods within the Great Hall, proposed as creative spaces and fabricating a place where creativity can flourish. Inviting the nearby Whairepo Lagoon into the ground floor of the space, this design seeks to create a building where both the natural and urban environment can co-exist. Employing the four major components of Te Mana O Te taiao being Whenua, Wai Ahuarangi and Koiroa.
